PROVIDENCE – At first it was expected, even a little charming. But Trinity Rep is just as tired of being as snowed in as you are. That’s why they're announcing a special offer that’s guaranteed to thaw your spirit without draining your wallet: two for $30 tickets (or one for $15, if you’re flying solo) to the company's production of The Crucible, which opens in previews this Friday, February 4 – up to a 64% percent discount off full price for the same seats!* The offer is good for the 7:30PM performances on Sunday, February 6; Tuesday, February 8; and Thursday, February 10. Taking in an evening of live theater is the perfect reward for making it through the recent winter wallop, and offers a locally grown, critically acclaimed alternative to lingering on the couch for yet another night watching those other teams duke it out on Superbowl Sunday.

WLNE-TV / ABC6 and PETRO OIL LAUNCH OPERATION: WARM HOME

(Providence-RI)—As a dangerous arctic wave settles over New England, WLNE-TV / ABC6 and Petro oil are combining resources to come to the aid of Southern New Englanders who are unable to heat their homes. Prompted by emails and calls from viewers looking for help, the station launched Operation: Warm Home, a program that helps people and companies donate unused home heating oil to their neighbors who urgently need it.

“Forecasts are for low temperatures between five and ten below zero,” said Steve Doerr, Vice President and General Manager of WLNE/ABC-6. “People need help and they need it now. Operation: Warm Home, is our program to get them enough oil to get through the next few days.”

In recent days, ABC-6 has been sharing stories of families from throughout Southern New England who cannot afford to heat their homes in a battered economy. These stories have resonated with ABC-6 viewers.
